Food Sustainability Gap Analysis Benchmarking FINAL FULL.png

In September 2025, Read the Air assembled a team to work with Japanese food companies for year on the intersection of corporate Sustainability performance and livestock management as the ESG, Farming, Food and Animal Welfare Roundtable Japan (E-FFAW). As result RtA has published "Rising to the Standard—Sustainability and Livestock Management in Japan's Food Industry: Structural Challenges, Evidence, and Practical Guidelines".

RtA performed its proprietary Sustainability Gap Analysis (SGA) across a sample of listed Japanese Food businesses, and found that the retail, processed food and fast food sectors are well positioned to report, while ingredient suppliers require improvements in certain important areas. Download "Setting the Table for Sustainability Disclosure" [日本語], for insights on how  the retail, processed food and fast food sectors are well positioned to report, while ingredient suppliers require improvements in certain important areas.

Download The Long Arm of the Law [日本語], on the impact of the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directives (CSRD) beyond its borders.
